I'm going to say something that might ruffle a few feathers: the creative industry as we know it is dying. And AI is the culprit.
But before you start penning my hate mail, hear me out. I don't think this is a bad thing. In fact, I believe AI is going to be the best thing that's ever happened to creativity.
Why? Because AI is going to democratize creativity in a way that nothing else has before. It's going to put the power of creation into the hands of anyone with an idea and a keyboard.
Don't believe me? Just look at this incredible AI-generated video by Víctor Morón and Jose Hernandez. This is the future of creativity. And it's not coming. It's already here.
For too long, the creative industry has been gated by technical skills and big budgets. If you couldn't draw, or shoot video, or code, or afford expensive software and equipment, tough luck. Your ideas didn't matter.
But AI changes all that. Suddenly, anyone can be a visual artist, a filmmaker, a designer. All you need is an imagination and a way with words or prompts.
That terrifies the old guard. They're scared that AI will replace them and churn out soulless, derivative work.
But they're wrong. AI isn't going to replace human creativity. It's going to enhance it. It's going to free us from the drudgery of technical execution and allow us to focus on what really matters: ideas.
Think about the explosion of new voices and perspectives we're going to see. People who have always had stories to tell but never had the means to tell them. People like Khaby Lame, who went from factory worker to global superstar thanks to social media.
Now imagine that same phenomenon, but turbocharged by AI. Imagine a world where anyone, anywhere, can bring their creative vision to life, no matter their background or resources.
That's the world AI is going to create. And it's going to be amazing.
Sure, there will be a lot of noise—a lot of mediocre AI-generated content flooding the internet. But there will also be gems—brilliant, innovative works that we couldn't have imagined before.
And the cream will rise to the top because, in the end, it's not about the tool. It's about the idea, the execution, and the story behind it.
The creative industry isn't dying. It's evolving.
Those who embrace AI and learn to use it as a tool for their ideas will thrive. So don't fear the AI revolution. Embrace it because the future of creativity is coming.
It’s going to be wild.
